Jerry’s family meant the world to him, especially his grandchildren. No matter how full he was, he always had room for a treat. Jerry had a sweet tooth that was legendary. When Jerry wasn’t working, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family, shining for deer, farming, and watching slow pitch softball and football. Jerry was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in South Wayne. He was preceded in death by one brother: Tom Melland. Jerry is survived by his children: Kayla (Ben) Foster, Autum (Teagan) Cornell, and River Melland all of South Wayne his grandchildren that he absolutely adored: Peyton and Daniel Foster, Aubrey, Broxton, Greyson, and Ellie Cornell his parents: Calvin and Myrtle Melland one brother: Al (Lee Ann) Melland of South Wayne two sisters: Julie (Mike) Vondra of Platteville, WI and Lori (Scott) Melland of South Wayne many nieces nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends and sister-in-law Jill Melland of Monroe, WI. He worked as a dairy man and for ACE Concrete for many years. Following high school, he began as a farm hand and started his family shortly after. Jerry grew up in South Wayne where he graduated from Black Hawk High School in 1983. He was born Augin Monroe the son of Calvin and Myrtle (Seffrood) Melland. “Jerry” Melland, age 58 of South Wayne, WI passed away Wednesday, Jsurrounded by his family at Monroe Health Services in Monroe, WI.
